This course highlights common principles that permeate the functionality of today’s telecommunications network systems with an emphasis on the practical application. The most common network management techniques, as well as various solutions for network performance evaluation are studied. Respectively, students acquire the practical skills required to design, secure, and maintain real telecommunications systems using open-source tools.
COURSE AIM
Show students a modern approach of telecommunications network architecture, network management principles and technologies.
COURSE GOALS
- Study network management and control methods inside Unix/Linux operating system environment.
- Offer methods, materials and tools to achieve an aim of the course.
COURSE OUTCOMES
- Student is familiar with modern telecommunications data network technologies.
- Student knows multi-layer network architectures, protocols, standards, as well as network switching principles.
- Student has mastered the basics of network security and maintenance.
- Student is capable to design a network model in accordance with the requirements, find a suitable architecture and solution to provide network application functionality in the cloud infrastructure.
- The student is able to show a holistic picture of his/her abilities and skills in the context of a given course.
